Geometric Landscapes (2017-2020, 2024)
I paint on location, or from photographs I’ve taken while hiking in the mountains. I use geometric abstraction to control the composition and break down the scene into the most important elements. I contrast flat planes against small details to give a sense of scale. I aim to simplify, but still convey the character of the place I’m painting.
