Flip the Script (2023)

Flip the Script was a group exhibition held at the Fort Calgary historic site with the aim of broadening the narrative about the historic location. The confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers was an important meeting place for indigenous peoples. The area was settled by Europeans in the late 19th century and eventually became a city.

I took it as an opportunity to explore how the native and introduced flora living around the river confluence hint at the human stories there.

The show ran from July 2023 to January 2024.
